Job summary :

As a System and Network Administrator, you will play a central role in the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of network systems in the IT and OT environments of a continuous-production industrial site. You will ensure the reliability and availability of industrial IT equipment (Levels 0 through 2 of the Purdue model) while contributing to the continuous improvement of the existing infrastructure.

This role involves working closely with corporate IT teams and process control teams, as well as with counterparts at other sites around the world.

Requires working 3 to 4 days a week at our client's location in Deschambault.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintain infrastructure services (servers, network components)—including updates, troubleshooting, and the rapid restoration of all industrial IT equipment.
  • Help develop solutions aimed at improving the availability and reliability of network equipment by proposing additions or modifications to the existing infrastructure.
  • Manage backups of components related to process control.
  • Evaluate and implement new computer hardware while taking full advantage of its advanced features.
  • Keep infrastructure components up to date to prevent obsolescence and ensure security compliance (patch management, monitoring, auditing).
  • Help resolve incidents related to process automation in order to minimize production downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, occupational health and safety standards, and applicable guidelines and procedures.
  • Collaborate with counterpart teams at other industrial sites both nationally and internationally.

Technical requirements :

  • A college or university degree in engineering or information technology; 
    • Any combination of training and experience deemed equivalent will be considered. 
  • Cisco Networking: switches, Wi-Fi access points, management via Cisco Network Manager.
  • Virtualization: VMware ESXi environment.
  • Microsoft Server Systems.
  • Backup tools: Veeam.
  • Network Monitoring: What’s Up Gold.
  • Antivirus: Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP).
  • Access Control and Video Surveillance: Genetec System.
  • Basics of LTE and/or radio frequency communication networks.

Skills :

  • Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational environment (continuous production).
