Series – An agile project dashbord with Power BI

During the Agile Tour Quebec 2023, my colleague Simon-Pierre Morin challenged me to write a blog related to our presentation on the agile project tracking dashboard. It was a trap! One blog won’t be enough. So, Simon-Pierre and I are preparing a series of blogs that will cover the main points of our conference.

Why a presentation on the agile dashboard?

Because the topic sparked an interesting discussion between Simon-Pierre and me. On my part, I have just joined the Kurios IT team, following a mandate where I held the role of interim product manager for over a year. During this period, I was responsible for reporting on development projects and contributed to the review of project management processes within my organization. On his side, Simon-Pierre is currently on a mission supporting a program manager responsible for tracking the progress of software development within a manufacturing group.

By delving into Simon-Pierre’s work, I discovered interesting solutions to the challenge I often face in constructing an accountability tool with data from agile planning tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

Our blog series will thus explore the needs and challenges faced by a manager who wants to track the progress of their agile projects and will also address Simon-Pierre’s practical solutions through the use of Power BI.
